Employment

We love our jobs! Working for Canyoning.co.nz is hard work but more importantly, fun and rewarding… not to mention, how jealous you can make your mates with one of the most stunning 'offices' you'll ever encounter!

If you're staying in Queenstown long term and are interested in one of the positions (detailed below) for the 2013/2014 season please send your cover letter and CV with relevant skills and qualifications to info@canyoning.co.nz.

Before applying please make sure you've done some research, explore our website and check out our Facebook page to familiarise yourself with the company. If you think you've got the skills we're looking for, please let us know what visa you will have, or require in order to work for Canyoning.co.nz. Ideal candidates are flexible, hard working, and work well as part of a team. We are keen to talk to those serious about future and permanent summer positions.

Guides
As a major factor to the success of the business and enjoyment of our customers, Canyoning.co.nz are looking for exceptional guides who deliver safe and enjoyable canyoning experiences.

While previous canyon guiding experience is desirable, we do offer full training to the right candidate. Applicants with ropes, white water, first aid training, and previous outdoor guiding experience are preferred.

In order to give the best customer experience possible our guides need to have more than just the technical capabilities. Positive, happy guides that make people feel safe and at ease when helping them overcome a personal challenge can MAKE the experience. Because of this, soft skills and the ability to adapt to people's individual needs are a must.

Guides also drive our customers to and from the canyon so a P Endorsement (New Zealand Passenger Licence) is desirable. We recommend applying for the passenger licence early if this is something you're considering.

If you think this is you, get in touch!

Photographers
For safety reasons our customers are not allowed to bring their own cameras into the canyon so you are responsible for capturing their experience throughout the canyon, in and out of the water.

Canyoning experience is not necessary, our guides will teach you how to abseil/rappel and move safely through the canyon with your camera. Customer service, sales skills, and the ability to entertain are key to this position.

We are looking for talented photographers that have their own SLR camera with manual settings and video capabilities.

If you think this is you, get in touch!

Frontline sales and service consultants
Canyoning.co.nz operates out of Destination Glenorchy Info Center in Queenstown. We require frontline staff to promote, sell, and co-ordinate all trips that depart from the shop, as well as sell other activities in Queenstown, Glenorchy, Milford Sound, and the West Coast.

To succeed in this role you must love meeting people, have excellent communication skills, and previous experience in customer service and sales roles are essential. We require well presented, organized, and self-motivated individuals.

If you think this is you, get in touch!
